When are Expert Witnesses used?
An Expert Witness is required when it is necessary to have opinion evidence to assist in the resolution of a dispute. The opinion may lead to the early resolution of the dispute. An Expert Witness may be involved in court proceedings and may be called to give evidence.
Who is considered to be an Expert Witness?
An Expert Witness is anyone with extensive knowledge, qualification or experience in a particular field or discipline.
What will an Expert Witness Do?
Martin will discuss your issue informally on the telephone, arrange a visit to the site to discuss the problem further, carry out a full site survey, uplift sizes, take samples (if required) and take photographs. He will prepare a written report with reference to any appropriate British Standards, Codes of Practice or other literature on the subject by approved or recognised bodies.
Martin will provide an independent, impartial expert opinion in his area of expertise on the subject matter in accordance with the instructions they are given, These instructions will be shown in the Expert Witness’s report which will be seen by the other side and the Court.
