Gaining Planning Consent for windows in Listed Buildings

Being refused planning permission can be frustrating. Local Authorities all have guidelines but there are inconsistencies in policy and what may be passed in one area, may need to be appealed against in another.

As a founding member of The Glass and Glazing Federation Working Group Martin, alongside fellow members of the GGF, Historic Environment Scotland (HES), Heads of Planning Scotland (HOPS) and Local Authority Building Standards Scotland (LABSS) are researching and developing alternative designs for modern double glazing for use in Listed Buildings and within Conservation Areas in Scotland.

This is something Martin is passionate about and he donates his time both professionally and personally.

Martin was also invited to become a member of the working group for The Scottish Traditional Building Forum.
