Martin qualified from Heriot Watt University in 1977 with an Honours Degree in Building. Martin is also a member of The Charted Institute of Building (MCIOB). He has over 40 years experience in the Construction Industry.
Managing from the ‘Coal Face’
With vast experience as a Building Contractor, Martin has rarely managed from ‘behind a desk’. This has provided him with a wealth of hands on knowledge and experience in construction projects, where pitfalls may lay and the solutions required. His projects involve everything from foundations to external finishes and interior decor.
Heritage
Identifying the smallest detail that could indicate a more serious underlying problem in a construction project is one of Martin’s strengths. Working with professional bodies and undertaking forensic/analytical work to establish reasons for failures in a building and establishing a financially viable way of rectifying the incorrect form of construction and in some extreme cases partially remove and reinstate the building.
