Challenging The Home Owner’s Report – Glenrothes

Our clients purchased a property and their offer was based on an initial viewing and subsequent Home Owner’s Report. After moving into the property they had cause to question the staircase in the property and asked a friend to write to the surveyors that carried out the Home Owner’s Report.

Outcome

After correspondence and a visit the clients were offered a sum of £3,000 as compensation. MPR Consultants were then commissioned by the client to carry out a full survey and prepare a full report along with photographs and conclusions and present to then Home Report Surveyors.

Within 14 days of the report The National Surveyor Practice offered our clients a more acceptable sum of £6,200 which allowed them to replace the staircase and covered their associated costs.
